The Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the General Director of the Norwegian Committee for Afghanistan worth $709,715

Today, in afternoon, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with the General Director of the Norwegian Committee for Afghanistan, Taria Magnuson Waterdal, along with the person in charge of humanitarian aid programs, Zabihullah Rahmati, the person in charge of relations, Majibullah Shirzoi and the officer in charge of relations with donors, Ghaffar Rahmati, at his office and signed a Memorandum of understanding.
Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi Sahb, welcomed the delegation from the Norwegian Committee and stated that institutions should speed up their work, especially the distribution of winter aid, so that people can benefit from it in a timely manner.
Turabi Sahb further added that they are trying to expedite the work of the institutions so that the people of Afghanistan can benefit from their services. He said, "We strive to always cooperate with institutions within the framework and principles of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan."
Turabi Sahb also mentioned that due to its geographical location, Afghanistan faces various natural disasters, and he urged the Norwegian Committee to cooperate with this authority in implementing preventive projects to reduce disaster risks.
Subsequently, the General Director of the Norwegian Committee for Afghanistan, Taria Magnuson Waterdal, expressed gratitude to the head of ANDMA for the cooperation and provided information about the various services of this committee. She committed to cooperating with Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority in conducting public awareness programs about disaster risks and implementing preventive projects.
Mr. Waterdal presented information about the committee's current project, which includes winter aid and providing shelter for affected families in Shakar Dara district of Kabul province and Barmal district of Paktika province.
It is worth noting that this committee will distribute $709,715 worth of aid, providing $200 or its equivalent in Afghanis to each of 511 deserving families in Shakar Dara district of Kabul province, along with 5 mats (one two-person and four one-person) valued at $74. Additionally, aid will be distributed to 282 affected families in Barmal district of Paktika province; 68 families will receive $1,620 or its equivalent in Afghanis for the second and third installments, and 214 families will receive $1,310 or its equivalent in Afghanis for the second and third installments for house construction.
