The Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority met with the Ambassador of Japan to Afghanistan at his office
Today, on Tuesday, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with the Ambassador of Japan, Dr. Takayoshi Kurumiya, his first secretary, Hirottaka Kawakami, and their accompanying delegation in his office.
Turabi Sahb welcomed the Ambassador and his delegation and discussed the achievements and challenges of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority. He noted that a large number of people in Afghanistan are facing poverty and destitution and seriously need assistance. He mentioned that they have launched a five-year strategic plan and emphasized the need for full cooperation in its implementation.
Furthermore, Turabi Sahb stated that Japan has always been very cooperative in providing assistance, for which we are grateful. He requested further cooperation and assistance in the future and thanked the JICA and TICA organizations for providing training in Turkey to ten employees of this authority in disaster management.
The Ambassador of Japan, Dr. Takayoshi Kurumiya, thanked the head of the authority and described Afghanistan as a good friend of Japan. He mentioned their past assistance and said they would continue their support to further strengthen the relations between the two countries.
The Ambassador thanked the head of the authority for always cooperating with the institutions and for transparently delivering aid to the affected families. He also stated that they would fully cooperate in the implementation of the five-year strategic plan.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on mutual cooperation.
