A Joint Agreement of Cooperation worth $502,296 was signed between ANDMA and AAR Japan
This afternoon, on Tuesday, the Acting head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi Sahb met with Mr. Mohammad Basir Basir, the Head of AAR Japan, a charitable organization in Afghanistan. During the meeting, a joint cooperation agreement worth a total of $502,296 was signed.
At the utmost, Turabi Sahb welcomed the delegation of the aforementioned organization, stating that Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority has always strived to collaborate with institutions engaged in humanitarian activities. He emphasized the expectation that these organizations would make greater efforts to attract more aid and ensure its transparent and timely distribution to those in need.
Likewise, Mr. Mohammad Basir Basir, the Head of AAR Japan, expressed his gratitude for Alhaj Turabi Sahb’s cooperation and dedication in addressing challenges faced by organizations. He emphasized that the ANDMA’s staff at both the central and provincial levels would maintain full cooperation with aid organizations.
It is noteworthy that under the terms of the signed agreement, AAR Japan will implement mine risk awareness programs in Kabul city as well as the Shamulzai, Shinkay, Narang, and Jaldak districts of Zabul Province, with a budget of $502,296. The project encompasses the following three main activities:
1. Establishing an educational system in communities regarding unexploded ordnance (UXO).
2. Providing public awareness through media and educational materials on the dangers of mines and UXO.
3. Evaluating the effectiveness of educational activities related to mine and UXO hazards in communities.
