Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority Meets with the President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies

This Evening, on Wednesday, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with the President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Mr. Necephor Mghendi, along with the Programs Officer, Mr. Ahmad Suleiman and Protocol Manager, Mr. Abdul Rashid Hameem, at his office.
Turabi Sahb warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his gratitude for their continuous cooperation, emphasizing that Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority is working to encourage all humanitarian organizations and provide them with facilities to ensure their operations proceed efficiently and smoothly. He added that the authority has compiled the country’s needs and recorded them in a database system to implement projects accordingly.
Turabi Sahb also reiterated his commitment to ongoing collaboration and efforts to create facilities in all areas of operation.
In response, Mr. Necephor Mghendi thanked the Acting Head of the Authority for the meeting and expressed his happiness with the continuous cooperation they have received in all areas. He appreciated the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority for facilitating project implementation.
Mr. Mghendi further stated that the IFRC is striving to increase humanitarian assistance and projects in Afghanistan. He emphasized the importance of forming rapid response teams to address emergencies promptly and suggested providing public awareness campaigns in various provinces to help communities prepare for and prevent disasters.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of continued bilateral cooperation for the effective implementation of projects.
