A cooperation agreement worth 685 thousand and $760 USD was signed with the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA)
The Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Alhaj Mullah Noor ud din Turabi, signed the agreement with the Executive Director of OCHA, Abdul Basir Haqmal.
The agreement aims to provide assistance to affected people in various provinces.
During the meeting, Alhaj Mullah Noor ud din Turabi expressed satisfaction with the activities of humanitarian organizations in different provinces and emphasized the need for more assistance, especially during the upcoming winter season. He also stressed the importance of accelerating the delivery process to reach affected people more quickly.
Abdul Abdul Basir Haqmal, Executive Director of OCHA, thanked Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority for their cooperation and highlighted the importance of this agreement in providing assistance to affected people. He mentioned that OCHA has a project to provide winter assistance to 1876 affected families in the different districts of Badghis, Laghman and Nuristan provinces.
According to the agreement, 629 families in Nuristan, 412 families in Laghman and 835 families in Badghis will receive cash assistance worth $200 USD per family.
Additionally, 938 vulnerable families will receive winter assistance packages, including 5 pieces kids jackets, 2 pieces of gents jackets, 2 pieces of ladies scarfs, 2 showels, 2 pairs of gents shoes, 4 pairs of kids shoes, 12 pairs of socks, 4 pairs of kids gloves and 4 caps of kids. Each kit of these things worth 74 dollars including 4 single-person blankets and 2 pieces double-person blankets which worth 57 dollars each, will be distributed to them.
