A Technical Meeting was held between ANDMA and IOM to Form Volunteer Teams

Yesterday in morning, a technical meeting was held between Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) at the premises of the Authority. The purpose of this meeting was to evaluate the process of forming volunteer teams, develop supportive policies, and secure necessary assistance for the implementation of this initiative.
The meeting was attended by the Head of Personnel Affairs, Mawlavi Mohammad Abid Noamani, the Director of Foreign Relations, Burhanuddin Khan and several directors from Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority. Representing IOM were Ashraf Al-Sahar, the Disaster Risk Reduction Officer and Abdul Warith Al-Qassim, the Communications Officer.
The main discussions centered on the critical role of volunteer teams in emergency response, the effective utilization of community capacities and the need for coordination between local and international organizations.
Representatives of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority emphasized the necessity of establishing volunteer teams and requested technical and financial support from international organizations to implement this program.
In response, IOM representatives expressed their support for the initiative and committed to sharing the proposal with donors while making efforts to secure financial resources.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties affirmed their commitment to ongoing meetings, collaborative efforts, and mutual understanding to ensure an effective response to natural disasters, as well as securing financial support for the program.
