Capacity Building:
Capacity building refers to a set of activities, programs and measures aimed at enhancing the capabilities, skills, knowledge and resources of an organization or individuals to perform tasks more quickly and effectively. Within the framework of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, capacity building involves strengthening the technical, human, operational and structural capacities of the authority to effectively respond to and combat natural and man-made disasters.
The primary goal of launching capacity-building programs is to enhance the technical, managerial and operational capabilities of the authority at both central and provincial levels, ensuring a swift and effective response to disasters.
Expected Objectives:
- Improve coordination between government and non-government institutions during disasters.
- Reduce human casualties and financial losses.
- Raise public awareness about potential risks and preventive measures.
- Strengthen the authority’s human resources.
- Enhance early warning systems and emergency response mechanisms.
Achievements:
- Professional and managerial training for hundreds of employees both within the country and abroad.
- Equipping central and provincial offices with essential tools and equipment.
- Conducting educational and operational drills to ensure better preparedness.
