An MoU worth 500,0000$ was signed between ANDMA and the Information Management and Mine Action Programs (IMMAP) international organization

Today, in morning, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with the Operations Manager of the Information Management and Mine Action Programs (IMMAP), Ghulam Haidar Faizi, and an employee of the same organization, Abdul Fatah Ishaqzai.
Alhaj Turabi Sahb welcomed the visiting delegation and stated that Afghanistan is a country facing the threat of both natural and man-made disasters. He emphasized, "We aim to focus more on preventive projects because prevention can save people from greater harm at a lower cost."
Alhaj Turabi Sahb further noted that areas prone to risks have been identified across all 34 provinces, and efforts are underway to mitigate these dangers to prevent harm to the population. He also reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to efficiency and transparency in its operations.
Subsequently, the visiting delegation from IMMAP expressed their special gratitude to the acting head of the authority, stating that their organization is now more eager than ever to collaborate with Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority. "We also wish to work together with Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority," they added.
In addition, Mr. Faizi, the Operations Manager, explained that IMMAP began its activities in 2010, focusing on information management and reducing disaster risks.
The memorandum of understanding, valued at 5 million dollars, was signed to facilitate cooperation in five key areas:
1. Humanitarian Data Spatial Hub Platform
2. Information Management Support
3. Mapping and Cartography
4. Pre-Disaster Early Warning and Response
5. Communication Support for Climate Adaptation
These efforts will involve collaboration with Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority and other institutions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the memorandum of understanding was signed by both parties.
