An MoU for Joint Cooperation was Signed Between ANDMA and AWSDC Organization Worth a Total of $75,000

Today, on Wednesday, Honorable Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the Director General of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, met at his office with Mohammad Sadiq Ayar, Deputy and the Acting Head of the AWSDC Organisation and Firdous Ebrahimi, Program Manager of the Organization, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding for joint cooperation worth a total amount of $75,000 (seventy-five thousand US dollars).
Before anything else, Alhaj Turabi Sahb welcomed the delegation from the Organization and stated that winter has now arrived, and people need assistance more than ever during this season. He urged organizations to distribute winter aid on time.  
He also expressed special appreciation for the activities and assistance provided by this institute, particularly its cooperation with families affected during the winter season, and once again emphasized the importance of delivering aid quickly.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Sadiq Ayar, Deputy Head of the Organisation, said that AWSDC provides services to the people of Afghanistan and that they are making every effort to deliver aid to affected families as soon as possible.
It is worth noting that, according to the signed Memorandum of Understanding, the following services will be implemented in Pashtun Kot District of Faryab Province:

1. Community Awareness Raising: Necessary awareness will be provided to community elders, especially members of the Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committees (CBDRRM), about the Early Warning System (EWS).

2. Three-day training and preparation of emergency kits for members of the disaster risk reduction committees, including tea breaks for participants (total budget: $2,850);  
   A five-day public awareness program on the Early Warning System (EWS) for 4 committees (60 people), including tea breaks for participants, and the preparation and printing of necessary banners and brochures (budget: $3,350).

3. Distribution of non-cash food assistance to people affected by drought and floods:  
   Food packages will be distributed to 370 families for one month, each package containing:  
   - 100 kg flour  
   - 5 liters cooking oil  
   - 9 kg lentils  
   - 24.5 kg rice  
   - 1 kg iodized salt  
   Each package is valued at *$100* and is intended for families of 7–8 members.  
   Additionally, $2,200 has been allocated for transportation of materials and printing of banners.

4. Cash assistance distribution: A one-time winter cash package of $100 USD will be provided to 71 families.
