An MoU for Joint Cooperation was signed between Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority and MCPA, Valued at a total of $159,355

Today in morning, Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, met with Mr. Mohammad Akram Amiri, Deputy Director of Programs at the Mine Clearance Planning Agency (MCPA) at his office and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for joint cooperation.
During the meeting, Alhaj Turabi Sahb welcomed Mr. Amiri and stated that one of the most critical areas of ANDMA’s work is coordinating mine clearance activities. He expressed his satisfaction with signing the MoU, which aligns with this objective. He further assured that necessary instructions would be issued to the Disaster Management Directorate of Laghman Province to facilitate cooperation with MCPA.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mohammad Akram Amiri, Deputy Director of Programs at MCPA, expressed his appreciation for the facilities provided to institutions by ANDMA. He noted that, with the support of ANDMA’s acting head, they were able to complete the administrative processes for this project, culminating in the signing of the MoU.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties signed the MoU, valued at a total of $159,355. Under this agreement, MCPA will clear 3,600,000 square meters of land in Shamti Village, Mehtarlam, Laghman Province—previously used as a training site by NATO forces—of unexploded ordnance and residual munitions from those exercises.
