The General Director of ANDMA Met with the Head of UNDP in Afghanistan
Today On Monday, the Director-General of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Alhaj Mulla Nooruddin Turabi, met at his office with Mr. Stephen Rodrigues, the head of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Afghanistan, along with Mr. Najibullah Yousufi, Deputy of the Climate Change Portfolio, and Mr. Sayed Asif Mohammadi, Senior Technical Specialist.
Welcoming the UNDP delegation, Alhaj Turabi Sahb expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing collaboration, stating, “We are pleased to work together, and we have always strived to provide essential services to the people through cooperation with various organizations and institutions.”
Alhaj Turabi Sahb further noted that, with the assistance of the authority’s engineering team, approximately 4,000 locations in need of projects have been identified. Additionally, the design and estimation work for around 800 of these critical project sites have been completed to enable organizations and institutions to implement these initiatives.
In response, Mr. Stephen Rodrigues commended Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority for the efficiency in its operations, saying, “The progress in your work is evident, and we appreciate the swift pace at which you are advancing your efforts.”
Mr. Rodrigues also emphasized that, in the field of disaster management, joint efforts will be made to deliver essential services to the people. He requested the list of approximately 4,000 identified project sites prepared by the authority’s engineers.
Both sides pledged to collaborate in addressing challenges and overcoming obstacles that may arise.
