The Director General of ANDMA met with the President of the International Organization Halo Trust and the International Operations Manager of REACT Organisation

Today, in morning, His Excellency Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the Director General of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, during a visit to Nangarhar province, met with Dr. Farid Homayoun, President of the international organization Halo Trust, and Paul Towler, International Operations Manager of the REACT organization, who were planning to visit the Ghaziabad camp in the NoorGul district of Kunar province.
Welcoming the guests, Alhaj Turabi Sahb emphasized the importance of REACT's cooperation in providing search and rescue equipment and stressed that strengthening the internal capabilities of the authority to respond effectively in emergencies is an urgent need.
He added that deploying foreign teams during emergencies is unlikely and less effective, making the enhancement of the authority’s internal resources the best approach. He urged the organization to cooperate in this regard.
Meanwhile, Paul Towler, International Operations Manager of REACT, thanked Alhaj Turabi Sahb for facilitating the meeting and stated that the purpose of the visit was to assess how to collaborate with Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority.
He noted that coordination and preparedness are of utmost importance during disasters. "We are keen to cooperate with this authority under a joint memorandum of understanding so that Afghans can take action in emergencies before others. Our efforts are focused on providing the necessary equipment for rapid response to urgent situations using available resources or other means," he said.
Additionally, Alhaj Turabi Sahb told the representatives of the organizations, "When you reach the camp, within two hours, you will see for yourselves how urgently the earthquake victims need assistance."
