The Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority met with Elders and Residents of Ghor Province

On Tuesday, the respected Haji Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the acting head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, during his official visit to Ghor Province, in accordance with the guidance of His Excellency Amir al-Mu'minin (may Allah protect him), which mandates that ministers of the IEA travel to provinces, meet with people directly and listen to their concerns and suggestions firsthand, held meetings with tribal elders, local influentials, and residents from the districts of Lal wa Sarjangal, Pasaband, Taywara, Dulina, and the provincial capital, Firozkoh.
The meeting, attended by several socially influential figures and local officials, provided an opportunity for the people to share their concerns regarding various issues, particularly their vulnerability to natural disasters, the shortage of relief supplies, preparedness for critical seasons and the state of service delivery with the head of the authority.
In response, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority expressed gratitude for the participation and engagement of the people, stating that the primary purpose of his visit to the province was to fulfill the directive of His Excellency Amir al-Mu'minin (may Allah protect him), which emphasizes establishing direct connections with the people and addressing their concerns. He further noted that the leadership of the IEA has clearly instructed that officials must be among the people, listen to their voices and address their needs in coordination and collaboration with relevant institutions.
Alhaj Turabi Sahb emphasized that Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority is committed to working with the people of Ghor to reduce vulnerability, provide humanitarian assistance and strengthen local capacities to cope with natural disasters.
In turn, the tribal elders warmly welcomed the visit of the authority’s head, describing such meetings as beneficial, motivating and a clear indication of the IEA’s leadership’s attention to the people. They called for the continuation of such direct interactions with officials.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation, enhancing preparedness for natural hazards and continuing such consultative meetings. Alhaj Turabi Sahb pledged to implement three small-scale projects worth one million Afghanis in the Taywara district to benefit its residents.
