The Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority had a Meeting with the Head of IOM

Today, in morning, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with the head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Park Mihyung, along with the Head of the Information Tracking Program, Alhamdani Mazhar and the Emergency Situations Officer, Faheem Safi, at his office.
At the utmost, Turabi Sahb, welcomed the IOM delegation and expressed his gratitude, highlighting that IOM has always provided humanitarian and technical assistance. He particularly thanked them for deploying 500 staff members over three months to identify high-risk areas.
Furthermore, Turabi Sahb requested the visiting IOM delegation to assist in accelerating and ensuring transparency in provincial operations by providing 35 biometric stations, 34 loudspeakers, and support for recruiting rural volunteers.
The IOM head, Park Mihyung expressed her appreciation to the Acting Head of ANDMA for the meeting and acknowledged the continuous cooperation between the two organizations in responding to both natural and non-natural disasters. She affirmed IOM’s commitment to maintaining this collaboration.
Ms. Park further stated that IOM had carefully noted the requests and would strive to meet the needs of ANDMA, ensuring continued support in the specified areas.
