An MoU was Signed Between ANDMA and International Catholic Charity Organization for $1,040,702

Today in morning, His Excellency Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the Director General of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA), met with Mr. Branun Moore, representative of the International Catholic Charity Organisation, and Mr. Ahmad Farid Samimi, head of the organization’s Kabul office, at his office.
Alhaj Turabi Sahb warmly welcomed the delegation from the aforementioned organization and stated that Afghanistan is among the countries most affected by natural and man-made disasters.
The Director General of ANDMA further emphasized that institutions implement projects in every province, and ANDMA is fully committed and cooperative in ensuring that affected families receive assistance as swiftly as possible.
Mr. Branun Moore, the representative of the organization in Afghanistan, noted that the institution has been active in Afghanistan for a long time and has consistently provided support in addressing natural and man-made disasters.
Mr. Moore expressed special gratitude to Alhaj Turabi Sahb for his continuous cooperation in all areas and for facilitating their operations promptly and in accordance with established principles.
It is worth mentioning that a memorandum of understanding valued at one million, forty thousand, seven hundred and two dollars ($1,040,702) was signed. Based on this agreement, the following activities will be implemented in the districts of Injil, Guzara, and Kushk Rabat Sangi in Herat Province:
1. Collection, analysis, and preparation of reports on climate-related damage assessments in Herat Province, with implementation in Herat and leadership of the process in the provinces of Kandahar, Paktika, Helmand, Ghazni, and Zabul, carried out through other institutions.
2. Establishment of disaster risk management committees in 20 villages and implementation of capacity-building programs for 500 individuals.
3. Facilitation of the development of disaster risk management plans.
4. Creation of community-based Disaster Risk Management (DRM) systems to strengthen prevention and preparedness at the community level.
5. Capacity building for staff in disaster risk management.
6. Preparation of support teams for DRM committees.
