Today in morning, His Excellency Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the Director General of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, met at his office with His Excellency Zulqarnain, President of the Islamic Relief Organisation, Mr. Ibrahim Ahmad, Head of Programs, and their accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to manage disasters and provide assistance to those affected.

The Director General Turabi Sahb stated that each institution has its own clearly defined responsibilities, and accordingly, this Authority is responsible for disaster management across the country and for providing assistance to disaster-affected people. He noted that since many organizations work with them, the Authority has provided all necessary facilities — both at the center and in the provinces — to enable these organizations to effectively address people's needs and problems.

He further mentioned that the Authority has prepared a list of priority projects and urgent needs based on the real requirements of the people and affected areas. Since disaster response is one of the main sectors of the Institute’s activities, this list will be shared with them so that they may consider including these projects in their 2026 annual plan.

In response, Mr. Zulqarnain, President of the Islamic Relief Organisation, said that he has long been familiar with Director General Turabi’s excellent and swift performance in disaster management, and that under his leadership the Authority operates with great efficiency. He expressed special appreciation for the Authority’s cooperation with humanitarian organizations.

The Organisation’s delegation also briefed the Director General about their planned activities for 2026, explaining that the organization works in the fields of disaster response and refugee assistance. Their planned programs for the coming year include:

- Cash assistance programs in Nangarhar and Kunar provinces
- Seasonal cash assistance programs
- Ramadan support programs
- Distribution of sacrificial meat (qurbani) in several provinces
- Support for refugees at the Omari Camp in Torkham
- Water network construction and distribution of hygiene kits in Herat province
- Repair and construction of shelters for earthquake-affected families in Chapa Dara district of Kunar province
- And other major humanitarian activities

They confirmed that many of these activities will be implemented in coordination with Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority.

The delegation also received the list of priority needs and locations prepared by the Authority. They stated that most of the listed projects align closely with the Institute’s planned activities and assured that they would make every possible effort to address and implement them.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Director General Turabi presented a souvenir to the President of the Islamic Relief Organisation in appreciation of the Institute’s valuable services.
