ANMA and DAFA Mine Clearance Organisation signed an MoU of Joint Cooperation Valued at $378,206

Today on Wednesday morning, the Alhaj Mawlavi Mohammad Alam Alamiyar, Director General of Finance and Administration and Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, met with the esteemed Abdul Wahid Noori, Director of the Afghan Mine Clearance Organization (DAFA), and signed a joint cooperation memorandum with him.
During the meeting, Alhaj Alamiyar Sahb described landmines and unexploded ordnance as a hidden enemy of the people and expressed support for DAFA’s ongoing project, which focuses on clearing mines and unexploded materials.
Similarly, Abdul Wahid Noori, Director of DAFA, expressed his satisfaction with ANDMA’s cooperation and provided details about the project at hand. He stated that the initiative aims to clear contaminated areas of landmines in two districts of Kunar Province and raise public awareness among the local population.
It is noteworthy that the joint cooperation memorandum, valued at a total of $378,206 (three hundred seventy-eight thousand two hundred and six dollars), was signed between the two parties. Under this agreement, 4,457,628 square meters (four million four hundred fifty-seven thousand six hundred twenty-eight) of land in the Dara-e-Pech and Wata Pur districts of Kunar Province will be cleared of landmines and unexploded ordnance. Additionally, public awareness campaigns about the dangers of mines and unexploded ordnance will be conducted for local communities. Furthermore, irrigation canals will be cleaned by underprivileged individuals to enhance agricultural lands.
