The Acting Head of ANDMA had a Meeting with International Aid Organizations at the Umari Camp in Torkham to Assess the Situation of Migrants

Today, on Saturday, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with representatives from UNICEF, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the World Food Programme (WFP), UNHCR, and other humanitarian organizations at the Umari Camp in Torkham to discuss improving the living conditions of migrants and addressing their challenges.
The meeting was held to closely examine the living conditions of the migrants and to share existing issues with the relevant authorities. Alhaj Turabi Sahb stated that the Islamic Emirate has made significant efforts to address the migrants' challenges in various areas, including transportation, shelter, electricity, food supplies, and other sectors. He noted that considerable services have been provided, though some challenges remain.
Additionally, Alhaj Turabi Sahb urged international organizations to promptly deliver their assistance to the migrants and provide essential and high-quality services, such as clean drinking water tanks, electricity, healthcare services, sanitation facilities, food, and other necessary supplies. He also called for an increase in humanitarian aid to support the migrants.
The representatives of the international organizations assured that they would work in coordination with relevant institutions to address the mentioned challenges and intensify their efforts to improve the migrants' living conditions. They committed to providing the resources at their disposal to the migrants.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Alhaj Turabi Sahb expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the international organizations and voiced hope that this cooperation would further expand.
