An Online Meeting was Held Under the Leadership of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority with Central and Provincial Officials and Staff

Today in morning, an online meeting was convened under the leadership of Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, with the participation of central and provincial directors, managers, general directors and staff of the authority. The meeting was held to follow up on legislative documents, decrees, laws and guidelines, address the issues, challenges, and suggestions of provincial directorates, enhance operational processes and foster greater coordination in disaster management activities across the country.
At the outset of the meeting, Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi highlighted the increasing risks of natural disasters in the country and stressed the importance of comprehensive preparedness and swift, effective responses to such events. He emphasized that addressing the needs and concerns of the public should be the top priority of the authority, and all activities must be carried out with diligence, full responsibility and prompt action.
The Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority outlined the primary objectives of the meeting as improving coordination, reviewing the implementation of guidelines and directives and ensuring meticulous oversight of activities in various sectors, including administration, warehousing, and other relevant areas. He noted that precision in executing duties and organizing operations, particularly at the provincial level, plays a critical role in strengthening the capacity for rapid and effective disaster response.
Alhaj Turabi Sahb also called for the collection of issues, challenges, and suggestions from provincial directorates based on geographical zones. He urged directors to submit accurate and documented reports on their ongoing activities to the authority’s leadership to facilitate more effective and targeted decision-making.
During the meeting, the provincial directors of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority individually presented reports on the implementation of directives and letters issued by the authority’s leadership. They outlined their achievements, challenges and existing issues while sharing specific recommendations with the Acting Head.
The meeting, which lasted several hours, concluded with Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, emphasizing the timely dissemination of directives, letters and legislative documents to the provinces. He committed to thoroughly reviewing the suggestions presented and taking necessary actions to address the challenges.
