An MOU of cooperation was Signed between ANDMA and AREA worth 700,000$

Today, on Monday afternoon, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with the General Director of AREA, Mr. Nusrat Ahmad Omari and the administrative head of the organization, Mohammad Yousuf Rahimi at his office and signed a memorandum of understanding for joint cooperation worth $700,000.
During the meeting, Turabi Sahb welcomed the delegation from AREA and emphasized that landmines and unexploded ordnance pose a serious threat to the public. He added that to address this issue, public awareness programs need to be strengthened and mines should be cleared safely and professionally.
Subsequently, Mr. Nusrat Ahmad Omari, the General Director of AREA, thanked the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority for the time given for the meeting. He stated that since 1993, AREA has been actively involved in mine clearance, agriculture, environmental health, and development activities across the country, providing valuable services to the people.
Mr. Omari detailed the specifics of the memorandum, explaining that this project, with financial support from the UN-OCHA office, will be implemented in 120 districts across 16 provinces of the country. The project includes public awareness and clearing areas contaminated with mines and unexploded ordnance.
It is noteworthy that this organization will clear contaminated areas of mines and unexploded ordnance in 120 districts of 16 provinces including Kabul, Kapisa, Parwan, Daikundi, Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Logar, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Kandahar, Helmand, Herat, Farah, Ghor, and Kunar with a budget of $700,000. Alongside, surveys and public awareness programs will be conducted.
