The Head of ANDMA met with the Consul General of the Russian Embassy at his office

On Thursday, Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, met with Ruslan Usmanov, Consul General of the Russian Embassy in Afghanistan and Alexander, his consular affairs colleague, at his office.
At the outset, Alhaj Turabi Sahb welcomed the visiting delegation and discussed various topics, including natural and unnatural disasters, humanitarian aid and food and non-food assistance.
He emphasized that establishing political, economic, and religious relations with various countries is a significant achievement, and both nations should strive to strengthen and sustain these ties. He also requested Russian support in addressing natural and unnatural disasters, managing emergencies, risk management, climate change, preparedness, capacity building, and providing food and non-food aid.
Alhaj Turabi Sahb assured the visiting representatives that any potential issues would be resolved in accordance with established principles.
In response, Ruslan Usmanov, the Russian Consul General, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet with Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority and highlighted his country’s cooperation with Afghanistan. He noted that Russia maintains political, economic and religious ties with Afghanistan, and these relations are now stronger than ever.
Mr. Usmanov added that Russia has an agency dedicated to handling emergencies and efforts will be made to establish cooperation and communication between this agency and Afghanistan’s National Disaster Management Authority.
In conclusion, both sides underscored the importance of addressing emergencies, providing humanitarian aid, and maintaining bilateral communication, after which the meeting concluded.
