The Director General of ANDMA and the British Special Representative for Afghanistan had a Meeting

The Director General of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, His Excellency Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with the British Special Representative for Afghanistan, Mr. Richard Lindsey, and his accompanying delegation at his office. Both sides engaged in comprehensive discussions on topics of mutual interest, particularly focusing on enhancing the capacity for disaster management in the country.
Welcoming the British delegation, His Excellency Turabi emphasized that Afghanistan’s humanitarian diplomacy necessitates fostering good relations with all countries and institutions to secure extensive assistance for the Afghan people. He noted that ANDMA has facilitated organizations that deliver humanitarian aid to those in need within the country, ensuring aid reaches the deserving through a humanitarian framework.
During the meeting, Director General Turabi Sahb requested the British delegation’s support for programs aimed at treating patients with heart conditions, establishing and equipping search and rescue teams with advanced tools, strengthening volunteer teams, and implementing small-scale preventive projects. He stressed that equipping regional teams with necessary resources would significantly enhance their effectiveness.
The British Special Representative for Afghanistan, Mr. Richard Lindsey, expressed his pleasure at the opportunity for the meeting, highlighting the importance of establishing effective communication in humanitarian efforts. He stated, “We closely follow your activities through the media, and we commend your efforts. It is evident that you address the challenges faced by your colleagues and partners effectively.”
Mr. Lindsey also acknowledged ANDMA’s efforts in providing aid to earthquake-affected people in Kunar province, noting the potential for further humanitarian assistance. He committed to collaborating with ANDMA through British humanitarian organizations to support the establishment and equipping of search and rescue teams, as well as strengthening volunteer initiatives.
In conclusion, both sides held comprehensive discussions on topics of mutual interest and agreed that continued close coordination in various areas would strengthen collaborative efforts.
