ANDMA and the Halo Trust International Organisation Signed Two MoUs Worth $2,076,245

Today, in morning, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Honorable Hajji Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with Mr. Ahmadullah, the Deputy of Halo Trust International Organisation, at his office.
Alhaj Turabi Sahb warmly welcomed the visiting delegation from the Halo Trust International Organisation and emphasized that mines and unexploded ordnance pose a significant threat to the public, necessitating widespread awareness campaigns and the clearance of such hazards.
Furthermore, Alhaj Turabi Sahb stated that instructions have been issued to all provincial officials of the authority to fully cooperate with organizations within the framework of established principles.
In response, Mr. Ahmadullah Homayoun, Deputy of the Halo Trust International Organisation, expressed special gratitude to Alhaj Turabi Sahb for granting the meeting and noted that the authority has consistently cooperated with their organization. He added that Halo Trust remains committed to raising public awareness to ensure safety from unexploded ordnance.
It is worth mentioning that the first memorandum of understanding, valued at $2,031,245, was signed to facilitate a comprehensive plan for the survey and clearance of mine-contaminated areas in Bamyan, Logar, Ghazni, Helmand and Ghor provinces. Various teams will be deployed to clear areas contaminated with improvised explosive devices across different regions of these provinces. It is planned that during the project’s implementation period, these areas will be cleared of mines. As a result of this project, approximately 7,770 individuals will benefit directly, and 19,208 others indirectly.
The second memorandum of understanding, valued at $45,000, was signed to clear mine-contaminated areas in the Pul-e-Alam district of Logar province, ensuring security and a safe living environment for residents. Through the efforts of mine clearance teams, these areas will be made free of mines, benefiting approximately 105 individuals directly and 450 others indirectly.
It should also be noted that a certain amount of the budget has been allocated for natural disasters, which will be utilized for addressing natural disasters as per the guidance of His Excellency Alhaj Turabi Sahb.
