ANDMA and AKAH had a Technical Meeting on Joint Cooperation

Today, in morning, a technical meeting was held between ANDMA and the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat (AKAH) with the participation of several officials from both institutions. The meeting aimed to expand and evaluate joint cooperation between the two entities.
Participants in the meeting included Qari Nooruddin Rustamkhil, the Head of Mine Action Coordination, Molvi Mohammad Javid Abbas, Head of Planning and Policy, Burhanuddin Khan, the Acting Head of International Relations, Syed Ahmad Sahim, Head of the Emergency Response Department, Esmatullah Esmati, Communications and Legal Advisor, Mohammad Nazar Joya, Head of Emergency Planning and Response, Nooruddin Akbari, Director of Habitat Programs, Qari Shukrullah Madani, Director of Communications and several other directors from the agency.
At the start of the meeting, Burhanuddin Khan expressed gratitude for the cooperation of the Aga Khan Agency and emphasized the need for greater coordination between the two institutions. He highlighted the commitment of ANDMA leadership to provide necessary facilities to organizations willing to collaborate in disaster management.
Following this, Syed Ahmad Sahim, Head of the Emergency Response Department of the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat in Badakhshan and Takhar provinces, stated that the agency has been delivering significant social, cultural and developmental services in Afghanistan since 1995. He also referenced past collaborations in habitat and disaster management and stressed that cooperation should continue in line with the ANDMA’s strategic plan, focusing on preventive programs, emergency response and the resettlement of affected populations.
Meanwhile, Esmatullah Esmati thanked the ANDMA leadership for their cooperation and coordination, noting that the primary goal of the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat is to improve the quality of life for people in Afghanistan.
At the same time, representatives of both institutions engaged in discussions and exchanged views on preventive projects, public awareness programs, emergency response, and resettlement efforts.
Additionally, the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat presented two presentations: one focused on reducing the risks of natural disasters and ensuring the safety of vulnerable communities, and the other on planning and reconstruction for the year 2025.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized strengthening joint cooperation, enhancing coordination in program implementation, and ensuring the effective exchange of information regarding natural disasters and operational areas.
