A Three-Day Training Workshop was Held for 30 Employees of ANDMA on Emergency Response

The Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, with financial and technical support from the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat, conducted a three-day training workshop for 30 of its employees focused on emergency response.
His Excellency Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, attended the workshop’s closing ceremony and spoke about the significance of this training program. He emphasized that such workshops play a crucial role in enhancing employees’ capacities to manage emergency situations during natural disasters in the country. He noted that 30 technical staff members were selected to participate in this workshop, where they received training on critical topics related to practical assistance during natural disasters and emergencies over the course of three days. He further stated that the skills of this technical team would be utilized in the future for effective emergency management.
Alhaj Turabi Sahb also pledged to provide additional training opportunities for the workshop participants. He urged the employees to carry out their duties with honesty and dedication for the people of Afghanistan. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat for their collaboration in organizing the workshop and called for the continuation of such programs in other key areas for the Authority’s staff.
Meanwhile, His Excellency Rahatullah Baik, Head of the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat, stated in his remarks that Afghanistan is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the region, suffering significant human and material losses annually due to natural disasters. Referring to the structure of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, he stressed that the Authority’s role in addressing natural disasters is vital and its work directly and indirectly impacts people’s lives.
Mr. Baik added that the three-day workshop was an effort by the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat to share its experiences and knowledge, with the aim of fostering mutual learning between the employees of both organizations and benefiting from the expertise of international instructors.
In conclusion, he extended special thanks to Alhaj Turabi Sahb, noting that he has consistently supported and collaborated with the Agency in all areas, describing him not only as an esteemed religious scholar but also as a capable leader.
At the end of the event, certificates were distributed to the participants, and the program concluded with a prayer for blessings.
