Teams for the Survey and Assessment of Displaced Persons Due to Recent Conflicts in the Eastern Zone Dispatched from the Center (Trabi Sahib’s Office) to the Districts
Today, in the morning of Sunday, the Director General of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, His Excellency Hajj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, led a professional delegation on a visit to Nangarhar Province. He held a meeting with the heads of the working committees to conduct a precise survey of families displaced due to the recent conflicts.
In the meeting, Alhaj Turabi Sb emphasized the need for a comprehensive and accurate survey of all families who have been displaced from various districts due to the fighting. He provided the relevant teams with the necessary instructions and guidance. He stated that the purpose of this survey is to accurately identify the needs of the displaced persons and to prepare the ground for delivering effective assistance to them.
The Director General of the Authority told the committee officials that all material resources and moral support of the Authority are at their disposal. He added that once the survey is completed, cash assistance, food items, and non-food items will be distributed to the displaced families by the IEA, particularly through this Authority.
At the end of the meeting, joint teams—comprising representatives from the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, representatives of the relevant districts, disaster management volunteers, and village elders (Malaks)—were dispatched under the supervision of the Authority’s staff to the conflict-affected districts. It has been decided that immediately after the completion of the survey, urgent and necessary actions will be taken to address the situation of the displaced persons.
