A Memorandum of Understanding was Signed Between Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority and Modern Agricultural and Livestock Institute for $411,549 in Collaborative Efforts

Today on Tuesday, His Excellency Mawlavi Nooruddin Turabi, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, met with Mr. Mohammad Naser Qadiri, President of the Modern Agricultural and Livestock Institute.
Alhaj Turabi Sahb warmly welcomed the President of the Institute and emphasized that many vulnerable families across various provinces urgently need assistance. He stressed that all institutions and organizations should provide aid to ensure these families benefit from support. Furthermore, Alhaj Turabi Sahb expressed gratitude to the delegation for their consistent efforts in assisting vulnerable families and urged them to continue their support to the Afghan people, emphasizing the importance of timely delivery of aid.
In response, Mr. Mohammad Naser Qadiri, President of the Modern Agricultural and Livestock Institute, expressed special thanks to ANDMA’s Acting Head for the prompt handling of their work and for bringing efficiency to their operations. He pledged to deliver assistance to needy families as quickly as possible.
In conclusion, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) valued at $411,549 was signed between both parties. Under this agreement, 15,576 vulnerable and needy families in Sar-e-Pul Province will receive food items and cash assistance in three phases:
1. Phase 1: 5,774 families will receive cash assistance, with each family provided 2,900 Afghanis for four months. (In some areas, the aid for three or four months may be distributed in a single round, depending on needs and the donor’s budget.)
2. Phase 2: 9,422 families will receive food items for four months, including 50 kg of flour, 4.5 kg of cooking oil, 6.2 kg of lentils, 0.5 kg of salt, plumpy, and super cereal. (These items may also be distributed for three or four months in a single round, based on needs and budget availability.)
3. Phase 3: 380 families affected by emergencies such as floods or other natural disasters will receive food items in two installments.
