A Meeting between the Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority and the Head of the International Federation of Red Cross was held

This afternoon, Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, met with Mr. Ahmad Suleiman, Head of the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC), at his office to discuss expanding cooperation in delivering humanitarian services.
During the meeting, Alhaj Turabi Sahb referenced his recent visit to the Torkham border and the establishment of a camp for forcibly returned migrants. He stated, "During the week we spent in Torkham, through immense efforts, we managed to establish a standardized camp equipped with essential facilities to allow our compatriots to live there temporarily with peace of mind."
The Head of ANDMA outlined the authority’s future plans, emphasizing extensive efforts to enhance the quality of humanitarian services for vulnerable communities. Highlighting ANDMA’s existing capacities and expertise, he affirmed its full readiness for close and effective collaboration with international organizations, particularly the IFRC.
Alhaj Turabi Sahb elaborated on future initiatives, including equipping ANDMA with rescue drones to provide swift and effective assistance to those affected during crises. 
Additionally, he announced the launch of a project to organize male and female volunteers in the districts of Kabul province, noting that this initiative could serve as an effective model for other organizations engaged in voluntary activities.
In response, Mr. Ahmad Suleiman, Head of the IFRC, highlighted the effectiveness of previous meetings and confirmed that all discussed matters had been raised with partner organizations, with practical steps already underway. He noted that the issues discussed were shared with the IFRC’s headquarters in Denmark, and efforts to secure funding are in progress.
Mr. Suleiman also announced an upcoming joint meeting between ANDMA, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the IFRC to assess the needs of affected populations and determine the required budget. He added that Switzerland has allocated one million dollars to support Afghan migrants.
Praising ANDMA’s efforts, Mr. Suleiman remarked that at Torkham, several organizations commended the quality of ANDMA’s tents and are striving to provide similar services for migrants.
In conclusion, both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining coordination and expanding joint cooperation to address humanitarian needs more effectively.
