The Acting Head of ANDMA Visits the Destroyed Bridge in Mirzaqom Village, Kerm Qul District, Faryab Province

As part of ongoing monitoring and assessment visits to high-risk areas, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Honorable Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, visited the site of a destroyed bridge in Mirzaqom Village, Kerm Qul District, Faryab Province.
The bridge, measuring 25 meters in length and 3 meters in width, serves as a vital transportation route for approximately 2,000 households. During the visit, the village residents shared their concerns with Honorable Turabi Sahb, requesting the reconstruction of the bridge. They highlighted that the bridge’s destruction has caused significant challenges in transportation, access to services and the delivery of essential goods.
After listening to the residents’ concerns, Honorable Turabi Sahb assured them that the issue of the bridge’s reconstruction would be thoroughly examined. He committed to coordinating with relevant institutions to initiate the necessary technical and practical steps for the project.
The Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority remains committed to implementing effective and coordinated measures to reduce risks, address the needs of communities in high-risk areas and enhance community resilience.
In his remarks, Honorable Turabi Sahb emphasized that close collaboration with local and international organizations can play a significant role in mitigating risks and strengthening community resilience. He further pledged that the authority would take urgent measures to improve conditions in affected areas.
These continuous monitoring and evaluation programs are part of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority’s efforts to improve disaster management, provide effective responses to affected communities and strengthen coordination between the central authority and provincial directorates.
